Athletics Coaches Wanted
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Knox School of Saint James, NY, a nonsectarian, independent college preparatory boarding and day school for grades six through twelve with a post-graduate year, is currently accepting applications for Athletics Coaches for the 2021/2022 school year.
Available Coaching Positions: Tennis, Volleyball, Strength & Conditioning
The Knox School Coach must be able to direct, instruct, manage and train individuals pertaining to a specific sport and must facilitate a sportsmanlike team. Most coaches are also teachers at The Knox School. This is preferred, but not required.

The Knox School Coaches must be able to direct, instruct, manage and train individuals pertaining to a specific sport and must facilitate a sportsmanlike team. Most coaches are also teachers at The Knox School. This is preferred, but not required.
Role of the Coach
- Assist student-athletes in developing to their full potential
- Train student-athletes in a specific sport
- Analyze the student-athlete’s performance and provide feedback for improvement
- Instruct student-athletes in the skills relevant to the sport
- Provide encouragement to all student-athletes
Responsibilities of the Coach
- To motivate student-athletes to reach their potential in any area or to improve in weak areas
- Develop specific skill sets in the student-athlete and set goals important to the sport
- Prepare all athletes of all skill levels (beginner, intermediate or advanced) for competition
- Maintain and manage a team effectively
- Must be willing to travel for Knox team sporting events
- Any and all other responsibilities as requested by the Director of Athletics
Experience
- 3 years coaching in the specific sport
Education
- College Degree
